Faith Tabernacle Full Gospel Baptist Church is a New Testament Church” empowered by the Holy Sprit.
Faith Tabernacle was founded September 14, 1980, with 24 charter members and 25 youth, under the leadership of the Reverend Lloyd A. Wheeler. Our first location for worship services was the Children’s Hour Day Care Center at 10820 Menaul NE with Wednesday night Prayer/Bible Study, choir rehearsals and other meetings held in the home of Pastor Wheeler. New Hope Baptist Church graciously opened their doors for our baptismal services and we are still worshipping and serving God together within the Full Gospel Baptist Church Fellowship International. Rev. Wheeler was officially installed as Pastor on May 15, 1981, by the Reverend Alvin J. Gay, pastor of King Baptist Church of Denver, Colorado. Installation services were conducted at the Mt. Olive Baptist Church. Our first church building at 7316 Bell SE was purchased on May 12, 1982 and ten years later in April of 1992, we moved to our present location, an expansion of space that God gave us to adequately meet the needs for kingdom building. Several members marched from our old location on Bell Street to 7701 Zuni. Ministry expansion has been experienced during these past 31 years as we move forward in accomplishing God’s divine plan and purpose. Our community outreach ministry of the “Helping Hand” Food Program continues to grow steadily each month. Major building improvements are evident but more than these changes, we thank God how He has enhanced our spiritual lives to make us more effective in Kingdom building. Under the leadership of Pastor Ivy, we continue to move onward in the work of the Kingdom, spreading the gospel and being examples of God’s miraculous overcoming power. Be- cause of “ridiculous faith” we are witnessing souls saved, persons delivered, bodies healed and needs met. With God we are “still standing” and “moving forward by faith.”
Mission: Faith Tabernacle Full Gospel Baptist Church is a New Testament Church” empowered by the Holy Sprit to promote the Gospel of Jesus Christ unto salvation, healing and deliverance. We have commission to go and make disciples, teaching them, making the Word alive. Because of our obedience, many will accept Christ as Savior and lives will be changed, young and old alike. We are to be the Church that loves, serves, and ministers as Jesus did for the advancement of the Kingdom. “And there will be a tabernacle for shade in the daytime from the heat, for a place of refuge and for a shelter from the storm and rain.” Isaiah 4:6
